The peated whisky for non-peated drinkers. A delicious maritime whisky with notes of salted caramel & nougat with a nutty, earthy influence.
Made by lightly smoking Tasmanian barley with local salt marsh peat, dug by hand not far from the distillery, on a custom smoker made in-house by Head Distiller Rob.
“Our coastal salt marsh peat has a very different style compared to the Scottish or even the central Tasmanian peats... On the
coast we get some of the nutty, earthy characteristics.” Rob.
This is no ashtray - it’s subtle, earthy and delicately balanced.
Only 556 bottles in the entire release. Matured by the ocean in ex-Bourbon American Oak casks.
Tasting Notes
- Nose : Honeycomb, vanilla & mineral notes.
- Palate: Caramel sauce with a sweet, nutty, subtle brown sugared peat influence.
- Finish: Nutty, earthy, herbaceous, subtle brown sugared peat influence balanced with honeycomb & candy floss.

Waubs Harbour Distillery is set on the edge of the ocean in Bicheno, on the far east coast of Tasmania. Once an old
oyster hatchery, now a world class whisky distillery with 5 salt-laden bond rooms and a cooling system run entirely by
the ocean.
