Old Islay Bunnahabhain 21 Year Old 1st Fill Sherry Hogshead Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky

2026 is the year of our Island Hopping series, where we take our Old Orkney brand on an adventure around Scotland’s other islands and see how many Island distilleries we can bag along the way. This single hoggie we’ve selected is beautfully balanced between drier, earthier sherry richness, and classical Bunna saltiness and robustness.

Nose: Leafy, clean, mineral and salty sherry, with nutty and slightly spicy undertones. A wonderful coastal impression remains which feels very classically Bunna. Recalls some of the old 12 year old Bunna OBs from the early 1990s.

Palate: Powerful, full-bodied Islay whisky without the peat. Dominated by cedar wood, salinity, nuts, spices, some dofter dark fruit notes and waxes.

Finish: Long, eleganty drying, a perfect balance of salty, nutty and earthy.
