Master of Malt 2015 Dailuaine 7 Year Old Bourbon Barrel Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Here we got our hands on a single malt from Dailuaine, distilled in 2015, and bottled in 2022. This expression was treated to a stay in a first-fill bourbon barrel. The result – inviting layers of vanilla, custard, and oak spice, presenting a delightfully contrasting character to the sticky, sherried fruit sweetness of its sibling. 361 bottles of this one.

Nose Citrus blossom and delicate lemon custard pudding, vibrant, fresh notes of vanilla pod lead to buttered tea loaf and cushions of soft sponge cake.

Palate Silky soft butter leads the way for a coating of juicy, oily malt, slick caramel, and vanilla fudge. A snap of pepper edges in with hints of pork crackling, though the creaminess keeps it in check with superb balance.

Finish Flaked, toasted almonds, sweet oak char, Custard Cream biscuits. A final wash of buttery barley gives way to a tingle of fresh green peppercorns.
