Burke & Wills No. 3 Harry Shot Horrocks Batch 1 Australian Single Malt Whisky

Our first Riverbourne is made from the rare Golden Promise barley, used to distill some of our favourite older whiskies. It was filled into a 100L Bourbon cask nearly 6 years ago with spirit made from 75% Golden Promise and 25% Scottish Peated Barley.

1n 1846, explorer John Horrocks was shot accidently when his grumpy camel, Harry, jostled his firearm causing it to discharge. Horrocks succumbed to his injuries marking the only known instance of a camel unintentionally taking out its rider.

Burke & Wills set out to chart a route from Melbourne to the Gulf of Carpentaria. Due to a run of spectacular bad luck, they died of thirst. So we named our whisky after them.
